NEW: THE INTERNET AND HEARING AIDS NOW INCLUDED IN IMMS 2009-2010

19.07.2010 11:04 by SWV

The International Market Models (IMM) for the Top 5 European Countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK) 2009-2010 have now been published. These reports provide in-depth quantitative information and analysis on the optical industry in each country.

The IMMs include updates on the population and demographics relevant to the optical industry. The wholesale market for lens, frame and contact lens sales (in volume and value) is quantified with a forecast for the development of these markets during the coming years. The retail sector is analysed and a full breakdown is provided of estimated turnover of the multinationals, retail chains and independent opticians in each country with their current number of retail outlets. (This can include a breakdown of the marketing and buying groups.) The report also include data on Refractive Surgery - again quantifying the market and forecasting market development.

For the first time, the IMMs for these five countries include an overview of the ophthalmic market and the products now available on the internet. This is an area of growth and will be developed in future reports.

With sections on qualifications, country specific ophthalmic organisations and training establishments and industry dedicated press, the IMMs provide an invaluable tool for marketeers and market analysts alike.

As of 2009, SWV began to cover the Hearing Aid sector, which is an important part of opticians sales in certain countries.

International Market Models have been conducted in many countries in Europe and further afield. To see a complete table of the reports and years studied, by country, please click here. If you would like to purchase a copy of one of these reports please contact Mark Mackenzie using the contact details at the bottom of the page.
